7-Day Challenge
Kids Screen Time Reset
7 days to reduce screen time as a family — together, not against each other.
7 days. One goal. Together.
Start Our Kids Screen Time ResetWe See You
You know the scene: you ask your kid to put the tablet away and it turns into a meltdown, or you realize the whole evening has passed and nobody actually talked. Screen time isn't the enemy — but when it's filling the gaps where connection used to be, something needs to shift. This challenge helps your family reset together, without the power struggles.
The Journey
Your 7-Day
Journey
See exactly what happens — day by day.
Before you change anything, you need to understand what's actually happening. Today you map your family's current screen habits without judgment.
You don't need to eliminate screens — you need one space where they don't belong. Today your family picks that space together.
Kids grab screens because they're bored or looking for stimulation. Today you stock up on alternatives that actually work.
One intentional block of screen-free family time changes the whole rhythm of the day. Today you schedule and protect 30 minutes together.
Arbitrary limits create resistance. Agreed-on limits create buy-in. Today you negotiate a fair screen deal with your kids — together.
Kids mirror what they see. Today you both put your phones away during family time — no exceptions.
Your family just did something genuinely hard — and you did it together. Today you celebrate that and set the plan going forward.

What You’ll Both Walk
Away With
Real results. Not just feelings.
Less Screen-Driven Conflict
The endless battles over "one more episode" fade when screens have clear, agreed-upon rules that the whole family helped create. Everyone knows where the line is.
More Real-World Play
With alternatives in place and a boredom-buster list on the wall, kids (and adults) rediscover how much fun analogue life can be. Screen time drops naturally, not forcibly.
Better Family Evenings
When the default isn't "everyone on their own device," evenings feel different — calmer, more connected, more like a family actually being together.
Screen Rules That Stick
Rules the kids helped write are rules they actually follow. Your family leaves the week with a fair, written screen agreement — and the buy-in to back it up.

Questions About
This Challenge
The challenge works best for families with kids aged 4-14. The tasks are flexible enough to adapt up or down — younger kids need simpler alternatives, older kids benefit more from being involved in designing the rules.
Don't force it. Start with the parent tasks (screen-free zone, modelling your own behaviour) and let the kids observe the change first. Resistance often melts when kids see parents genuinely doing it too.
Not at all. The goal is intentional screen time — screens that your family chooses and controls, rather than screens that fill every available gap. A healthy relationship with screens looks different for every family.
That tension is actually a great starting point for this challenge. The tasks help you align as a couple first, then present a united approach to the kids. A unified front makes everything easier.

Voices From
Our Community
“Day 5 — the family screen deal — was a game changer. Our 9-year-old was so proud of his "signature." He's reminded US of the rules twice since then.”
“We went in thinking this would be a battle. It turned out our kids actually wanted less screen time — they just didn't know what else to do. The boredom list solved it.”
“The biggest change was day 6 — phones away during family time. I hadn't realized how often I was the one reaching for mine. That humbled me.”
