Start Our Family Meal Planning WeekWe See You
It's 5:30pm and nobody knows what's for dinner. Someone suggests takeaway, someone else complains, a kid is already melting down. Meal planning sounds unsexy — until you've experienced a week where you already know what's for dinner, the shopping is done, and cooking is something you do together instead of a daily crisis.
The Journey
Your 7-Day
Journey
See exactly what happens — day by day.
Before you can plan, you need to know what everyone actually likes eating. Today you build a shared list — the foundation of your entire week.
Using your meal list from Day 1, plan five dinners for the coming week together. Keep it realistic — include one easy night, one stretch, one family favourite.
A meal plan without a matching shopping list is just a wish. Today you build the list from your plan, check what you already have, and divide the shopping so it's not one person's job.
Cooking stops being a chore and starts being a shared activity when kids have real roles. Even a 5-year-old can wash vegetables. Today someone in the family gets their first kitchen assignment.
Every plan needs a fallback for the chaotic nights. Today you identify and stock one 15-minute rescue meal that's actually decent — the thing you make when everything falls apart.
Today you cook one of your planned meals as a real team — everyone has a role, from prep to plating. It takes longer, makes more mess, and is entirely worth it.
One week of calmer dinners and shared cooking. Now lock it in: pick one day each week to do the 10-minute plan together, and one night as your official family cooking night.

Questions About
This Challenge
Once you have a meal list (Day 1), the weekly planning session takes 10 minutes. The shopping list takes another 10. It's the upfront investment that eliminates daily decision fatigue.
The Day 1 exercise collects everyone's favourites — the plan rotates through them. Some nights will be your favourite, some nights will be your partner's. That's the deal.
From age 3 they can wash vegetables and tear herbs. From 6 they can stir, measure, and set the table. From 10 they can manage a simple recipe with supervision. The task is about giving them something real to do.
Absolutely. Plan three home meals instead of five. The structure and decision-making process applies whether you cook three times a week or seven.

Voices From
Our Community
“We were spending €80 a week on takeaway because nobody planned ahead. One week of this challenge and we cut that to €20. Our fridge is now full of things we actually eat.”
“My daughter (8) now has a standing job every Sunday: she helps write the meal plan. She takes it completely seriously and argues for her favourites. Mealtimes haven't been a battle since.”
“The rescue meal idea on Day 5 was the best part. We chose pasta with tinned tomatoes. Sounds basic but it's saved us from expensive takeaway at least six times since we did the challenge.”
