7 days. One goal. Together.

When did you last do something purely for fun — together, without a screen, without a to-do list attached? Somewhere between the responsibilities of adult life, you stopped playing. This week is about finding your way back to that. One small new thing each day. No talent required, no commitment — just curiosity.

Your 7-Day
Journey

See exactly what happens — day by day.

Before you try anything, you dream a little. What have you always been curious about doing together? What did you used to enjoy that faded away? Today you build your shared wishlist.

Mini-task Each of you names 5 activities you'd like to try together — from wild to practical. Combine the lists and circle three that excite you both. 8 min

Drawing, painting, sketching, building something from materials at home — making something together with your hands is one of the most ancient forms of bonding humans do.

Mini-task Spend 10 minutes creating something together — no skill required. Draw each other's portrait badly. Make a paper plane competition. Build something absurd out of whatever's nearby. 10 min

A board game, a card game, an outdoor game, a silly challenge from a YouTube video — play is not childish. It's what adults forget to do. Today you remember.

Mini-task Play one game together for at least 10 minutes. Board game, card game, or a made-up challenge. The one who loses makes the hot drinks. 10 min

Not a workout — an adventure. A walk somewhere new, a bike ride, dancing in the kitchen, an outdoor sport you've never tried. Moving together unlocks a different kind of connection.

Mini-task Do one physical activity together today that you don't normally do. Dance to three songs. Try a YouTube yoga video. Walk a route you've never taken. 10 min

Pick one thing neither of you knows how to do. Watch a 10-minute tutorial together and try it. Origami, a magic trick, basic sign language — learning something new as a pair is surprisingly bonding.

Mini-task Find a 5-10 minute tutorial on something neither of you can do. Watch it together and try the first step. 10 min

On Day 1 you made a wishlist. Today you do one of those things — even a small version of it. Not perfectly, not fully prepared — just begin.

Mini-task Choose one item from your Day 1 wishlist and do a 10-minute starter version of it today. 10 min

After a week of trying different things, something stood out. Today you decide: which one or two activities do you want to keep doing together? Not as a project — as a pleasure.

Mini-task Each of you names the activity from the week you enjoyed most. If they're different, pick one shared and one individual. Schedule the first real session. 8 min

What You’ll Both Walk
Away With

Real results. Not just feelings.

🌟

A Shared Hobby You Both Love

By the end of the week, you'll have identified at least one activity you both genuinely want to keep doing — not as a commitment, but as something to look forward to.

😄

Real Laughter and Playfulness

Seven days of trying new things together generates the kind of shared memories and inside jokes that hold relationships together.

🧭

A Shared Activity Wishlist

Even the activities you didn't try this week are still on your list — a ready-made source of date ideas and family activities for months ahead.

A Different Kind of Connection

The connection you feel after laughing, creating, or learning something new together is qualitatively different from coexisting. This week reintroduces it.

Why This Works Better Than
Without Support

Doing It Alone
With CHAIVARA
× You keep meaning to "find a hobby together" but never actually commit to trying anything.
The 7-day structure means you try something new every single day — no planning paralysis, no excuses.
× You spend evenings in the same room doing different things, rarely laughing together.
Even the "bad" attempts on Day 2 create shared memories. The laughter is the point.
× You suggest activities but your partner isn't interested, so nothing happens.
Day 1 builds a wishlist you both contributed to — the activities come from both of you.
× After the week, you go back to the same evening routine and forget you tried anything.
Day 7 anchors the best discovery into a scheduled recurring activity — something you actually keep doing.

Questions About
This Challenge

That's actually perfect for this challenge. The goal is to find the overlap — the thing that sits somewhere between your individual tastes. Day 1 helps you find it. Day 2 through 6 let you test the waters.

Most of the daily tasks are 10 minutes and can be done after the kids are in bed — or with young children participating in some activities (making things, playing games, moving together).

That's still information. You've ruled out seven categories and know what you're NOT looking for. Day 7 helps you reflect on even the tiniest spark — often the hobby is hiding in an activity you dismissed as "not serious."

Not at all. Every task in this challenge can be done with things you already have at home or with free resources online. The point is exploration, not investment.

This Is Made
for You Both If…

  • You can't remember the last time you genuinely laughed together doing something new
  • Your free time together has become Netflix and scrolling by default
  • You have individual hobbies but nothing you really share or look forward to together
  • You keep saying "we should try X" but something always gets in the way

Voices From
Our Community

“We tried pottery on Day 6 (our wishlist item). We were both terrible at it. We laughed for the entire hour. That was six months ago and we have a standing monthly pottery class together now.”

“Day 5 we tried basic sign language from YouTube. We're still learning. Our kids joined in. It's become a family evening thing on Wednesdays. We never expected that from one challenge task.”

“I thought my partner would resist the whole challenge. By Day 3 he was suggesting the games himself. We'd genuinely stopped playing together — somewhere in our late 30s it just... stopped. This week restarted it.”
